On 6th May, Claire Grogan starts her attempt to cross the Greenland Ice Sheet, the 2nd largest body of ice in the world.

Her team will each be pulling pulks (sledges) weighing 65-70kg behind them, and will face temperatures down to -25 degrees.

The expedition will gradually climb to the high point of the ice cap around 2500m before descending towards the East Coast.

They will be pulling all of their provisions with them in sledges, and will ski for around 8-10 hours everday before setting up camp in the evening and melting snow for our dehydrated ration packs.

The journey will take around 27 days.

After meeting Tamara on the Weddell Sea Expedition where she was the Expedition Doctor, Claire agreed to raise money for the Tony Trust.

Please join us in wishing Claire all the best in this gruelling challenge. We are delighted she has chosen the Tony Trust as one of her charities.
